The curvature of the shadow's path and the apparent rotation of the Moon's disk is due to the Earth's rotation.

During this partial lunar eclipse, the Earth's shadow covered only parts of the Moon, as seen from Phnom Penh. There were no other locations on Earth where the Moon appeared completely covered during this event. The Earth's shadow covered a large portion of the Moon, so this was still a nice sight.
